Markbook

Review the whole cohort's scores, grades and progress in one grid.

Markbook

The markbook gives you a single grid of every pupil in the selected class's year group, so you can compare across sets and spot who's moving up or slipping back.

Reading the grid

Each row is a pupil. The columns show their name and set, their prior-attainment score, their current ranking, their effective total (an override if one was entered, otherwise the sum of their marks), their grade, and the residual — the difference between where they ranked on prior attainment and where they rank now. A large negative residual flags a pupil who is underperforming relative to their starting point.

Sorting and filtering

Click a column heading to sort by it — for example, order by residual to bring underperformers to the top. Use the per-column filters to narrow the list, such as showing only a particular grade band or residuals below a threshold. Long cohorts are paginated.

Entering marks

The markbook is read-only — it's for reviewing, not editing. To record or change marks, use Enter marks for question-level marks or Totals for whole-test scores.
