Schemes of work

Build the list of topics that classes are taught and assessed against.

Schemes of work

A scheme of work is the ordered list of topics for a subject. Schemes are what RAG analysis is built around: questions are mapped to topics, and pupils' progress is reported topic by topic.

Creating a scheme

Choose a subject, then create a scheme and give it a name. A subject can have more than one scheme — for example, different schemes for different year groups or tiers.

Adding and editing topics

Open a scheme to add topics to it. Each topic has a name and its topic text. Edit a topic at any time to correct its wording. The order you add topics in is the order they appear in reports.

Deleting

You can delete a scheme as long as no classes are using it, and delete a topic as long as no questions are mapped to it. If a delete is blocked, remove the class assignment or the mapping first.

Next steps

Once a scheme exists, assign it to classes on the Classes screen, and link test questions to its topics on the Mappings screen.
