Rank and grade checks
Confirm a leader's ranking and grades for your class.
Rank and grade checks
During an assessment window, a leader may ask you to check their ranking and grades for your class before they're finalised. These are optional steps that bring your professional judgement into the process. You'll usually reach them from a link in a feedback task.
Rank check
The leader computes a ranking for your class from the assessments they've chosen. On the rank check you review that order and, where you disagree, reorder pupils to match what you see in the classroom. When you're happy, accept the ranking; this hands it back to the leader as checked.
Grade check
Once grades have been allocated from the ranking and a grade profile, the grade check shows you each pupil's proposed grade. Flag any grades you disagree with, add a comment to explain why, and accept the rest. Your flags and comments are carried into the leader's final check.
Where this fits
These checks are part of the leader-run assessment window — see Assign assessments and Ranking, grading and final check for the whole journey.
