Setup overview

As an admin you build and maintain everything the rest of the school uses. The admin dashboard shows setup progress across every area so you can see what's done and what's left.

The setup dashboard

The dashboard shows a card for each part of the setup — subjects, schemes of work, classes, teachers, assessments, students, mappings, terminal exams, users, access codes, prior attainment, grade profiles and export. Each card links straight to that screen.

A sensible order

If you're setting up from scratch, this order works well:

1. Subjects — with their RAG thresholds.
2. Schemes of work — the topics for each subject.
3. Classes — sets and year groups.
4. Assessments — tests and their questions.
5. Teachers — invite staff and assign classes.
6. Students — import your roster.
7. Mappings — link questions to topics.
8. Prior attainment and grade profiles — for progress and grading.

You don't have to do it all at once — the dashboard's progress cards help you pick up where you left off.
